Swoop Books is a small, yet innovative publishing house formed in 2020. We have two ambitions to support new and aspiring creative writers and to provide great educational resources.
We offer publishing services including, printing, proof-reading and book cover design. We also run regular writing competitions. Our objective is to encourage creativity and boost your writing confidence.

Meet the Team
Grahame Killey
Director
Grahame can be thanked for having the original idea of Swoop Books whilst flying a kite on his honeymoon. After taking a creative writing course, Grahame has been unstoppable in his quest for promoting opportunities for creative writing. The competitions found on this website are his brainchild. Grahame’s vision for Swoop Books is to support new and amateur writers reach their full potential, get published and get a fair deal.
Professionally, Grahame has had an accomplished career working for over 20 years in the Civil Services and three universities.
Currently, Grahame is editing what may be our first published novel adult fiction with a twist, titled ‘Violet’.

Juliet Killey
Director of Educational Resources
Juliet’s most recent claim to fame is completing the draft of her first novel. She can boast a professional career which has always involved creativity of some kind from business marketing to classroom teaching. Academically, Juliet is a specialist in Theology and Religion with a master’s degree and is working on an Educational Doctorate.
Currently, Juliet is working with academic professionals to create Swoop Books educational resources for Humanities subjects, suitable for all Key Stages.
When not being creative with Swoop Books, you will find Juliet with her husband getting creative on their city allotment.

Emily Lazar
Design & Marketing Manager
Emily most recent achievement is her first-class honours degree in Graphic Design. Swoop Books design, marketing and social media would not be the same without Emily, who has a flare for creativity and keen attention to detail.
Emily is currently working on the design of a range of Swoop Books educational resources – coming soon. She is also getting creative designing book covers.
Emily has travelled extensively across Europe and loves wild camping and to go hiking in the mountains.
