Flash Fiction Friday is our way of getting the creative writing of our readers on display. We want to give everyone a platform to show their individual writing style.
It is free to enter and hopefully a fun chance for writers to get their work published here on Swoop Books. Use the button below to send us an email with your Flash Fiction as either a .doc or .pdf file. Please include your name and a brief summary of the inspirations behind your work.

Don’t waste a word.
Flash fiction is literally using as few words as possible to tell a whole story in say 500 to 1,000 words.

Don’t lose the plot.
Like any story the narrative of flash fiction requires a beginning, middle, and end. Even though it is short it can certainly have characters, action, and suspense. It should not be confused with a poem or a description.

Keep your reader working!
Flash fiction can be served with a surprise or two to keep the reader interested. A twist at the end is also a good technique to get them thinking about any deeper meanings your story holds.
